Congratulations to Mahtomedi High School students Leland Hanley, Layla Ragan, and Joey Borovsky, who were recently named 916 Students of the Month!
Each month, 916 celebrates and honors one student from each of their 20 programs as a Student of the Month. A Student of the Month is characterized by the professional skills of Leadership, Problem Solving, Teamwork, Engagement, and Communication.
Leland Hanley (Class of 2025) Construction Occupations-Licensed Trades
“Leland helps simplify information to his table. He has stepped in to assist with work when help is needed. He always is looking to help struggling students.”
Layla Ragan (Class of 2026) Emergency Medical Technician
“Layla is always ready to do whatever is asked...be the lead, help tidy up the room, guide students around during showcase, or participate in a scene. Layla brings integrity and quality to everything she does. Well done!”
Joey Borovsky (Class of 2026) Automotive Technology
“Joey has been doing a great job since the beginning of the school year. He is on top of his assignments, doing really well in the shop, and showing himself to be a leader in the classroom by his performance and caring about his progress. Excellent Student! Keep up the good work!”
Students enrolled in Northeast Metro 916 Career and Technical Center courses attend at 916 for 105 minutes and spend the remainder of their day at Mahtomedi High School taking their required core classes. The coursework allows students to explore passions and careers while gaining professional skills, certifications, and in some cases, college credit.
