art students

Thanks to a partnership between the Advanced Academics Program at Mahtomedi Public Schools and Mahtomedi Community Education, 50 students in grades 3-5 at O.H. Anderson Elementary School had the opportunity to attend the SparkPath Creativity Festival.

The purpose of the conference is to help students expand their imagination, develop their creativity, and strengthen their problem-solving skills with professionals in STEM and art. Students took three one-hour classes that sparked their creativity in the areas of fine arts, engineering, dance, theater, music, and invention.

Some of the learning activities our students engaged in included learning to breakdance, programming a robotic spirograph, creating an original game, building edible asphalt roadways, playing chimes, acting out theater scenes, building ziplines, and painting watercolor art.
