Lesson Plan:
Students will read independently while I talk to each student about the classic book project that will be presented at the end of first quarter.
Assignments:
Continue to work on Classic Book presentation.  Be sure to sign up for a time slot (Oct. 31, Nov. 1, and Nov. 2)and pick up a rubric so you can plan accordingly.

Lesson Plan:
Students will begin examining imagery that can be worked into their Life poems. We will draw images that we envision when we think of the chosen theme.
Assignments:
Write a first draft of Life poem. Have a draft prepared for tomorrow.


Wednesday, October 18, 2017
Lesson Plan:
Students will consider word choices will also an important consideration to be made by a poet. We will generate lists of rough and soft words to examine the difference in mood that is created.   We also want to examine denotation and connotation of words.
Assignments:
Work with a partner to generate some powerful lines for your Life poem.

NO HOMEWORK FOR the 4 day week, except please read a bit each day and think about your Life poem to try to refine your initial thoughts about the topic, theme and imagery!
