Media Center Information

Hours: The Middle School Media Center is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Individual students may come to use the Media Center with a classroom pass at any time during the school day, as well as before and after school.

Circulation Policy: Students may have three books checked out at a time and may keep each book for 10 school days. They may renew books and put books on hold. Students who have overdue materials will not be able to check out additional materials until the overdue materials are returned. Periodic reminders for overdue materials will be passed out to students.

Lost/Damaged Items: Lost or damaged books must be paid for so that we may purchase replacements for the collection. If a lost book that has been paid for is later found, a refund will be issued to the student.

Internet Safety: All district computers have an Internet filtering system. In addition, media staff work with teachers to guide students to websites that are age and content appropriate. Each student is made aware of the proper use of electronic resources and is asked to sign an Acceptable Use Policy.

Resources: Students have extensive access to a variety of media resources to support their learning activities. There are 10 Dell computers in the media center. Two of these stations are dedicated to the Follett online catalog for student searching. In addition, there are three 30 station computer labs in rooms 251, 267, 269, and in the 6th and 7th grade resource areas for information accessing and productivity.

The media center book collection includes over 10,000 items to support the curriculum and recreational reading interests.
